Snuggle in the hills, at the confluence of the Gomti and Saryu rivers, the holy township of Bageshwar is a prominent Shivaite shrine. As the puranas state, this undoubtedly is a place capable of liberating one from the eternal bondage of births & deaths. With the east and west flanked by the Bhileswar and Nileshwar mountains and surrounded by Suraj Kund in the north and Agni Kund in the south, At a height of 960 mtrs. above the sea level, it has attracted saints and sages through the ages. According to belief, Bageshwar is blessed by Lord Shive. During (March), the Shivaratri fair is held here. It attracts thousands of devotees from far and near. Apart from its religious sanctity, Bageshwar is a trekking routes to Pindari, Kafni and Sundardunga glaciers.

- Baijnath Temple
The Baijnath temple has a cluster of many temples, the most prominents of them is Bhairav, Dattatreya, Ganga Mata, Haniman, Durga, Kalika & Vaneswar temples. It is situated at the heart of city.
- Chandika Temple
It is situated at 1.5 kms away from Bageshwar. This beautiful temple dedicated to Goodess Chandika stands at top a mountain. Every year, the temple bustles with activity as the devout congregate here to offer pujas to the deity during the Navratras.
- Gauri Udiyar
This huge cave is situated at a distance 8 kms. It also know as the idol house of lord Shiva.
- Pindari Glacier, Sunderdhunga Glacier, Kaphni GlacierPerhaps the best known trekking route in Kumaun is Bageshwer district, the trail follows the Pindar river to it's source on the glacier are Nandakot (6,860 m), Chhanguch (6,322 m) and Nandaghunti (6,310 m). On the east and west of Pindari glacier are the Kaphni, at the foot of Nandakot and Sunderdhunga glaciers. Further west at the snout of the Namik glacier rises the Ramganga river. Tents and mountain boots are necessary.
